On February 7th, more than 35 PDM residents and visitors from all areas of our community met at Crescent Cove and joined with members of Palmas Ladies Community Club for a Beach Clean Up Day. While the beach is continually raked, our mission from PHA was to search for hidden “treasures” buried in the seaweed and on the mounds of fallen palm fronds. These “treasures” elude the beachcombers and can be dangerous to people walking the beach, to our pets, and wildlife. The clean-up team actually did discover “treasures!” Some the special signs from Bohio were found!!! Other things recovered include: a large piece of glass, bottle caps, assorted pieces of plastic, tree limbs, etc. filling many bags with sharp and dangerous debris. A big thank you to Joyce Sharkey and Michele Weiden for hosting a send-off breakfast/brunch and delicious lunch for our volunteers.
