Originally built in 1973, this historic-Spanish-style hotel was built to be the social center of the prestigious residential community of Palmas del Mar. Today, a year after the impact of hurricanes Irma and María and after having undergone a beautiful renovation, the Suarez family – Puerto Rican entrepreneurs and owners of the Palmas Hill Partners- decided to invest in the rebirth of this hidden gem and relaunch it under its original name, Candelero Beach Resort.

When visiting the Candelero Beach Resort, you can observe its architectural detail–everything is well thought out and the harmony of the design runs throughout the whole complex. The look is sophisticated and simple; a very pleasant mid-century vibe that automatically emits peace and relaxation. The newly remodeled Candelero Beach Resort is elegant, modern and minimalist; a perfect setting for resort living. The remodeling of the hotel, which started in June 2018, was left in the hands of architect Luisa Fernanda Escobar who, alongside with more than 100 local workers, have worked on the restoration that will continue until mid-April and will include the development of a new pool, gastronomic area and bar. The remodeling of the lobby included the closing off of the area with wall glass panels that now integrates nature into this unique space. The brand new central air condition system makes the lobby area more enjoyable while sipping your favorite cocktail at Mahi Ceviche and Tapas Bar or tasting coffee at El Café, the new coffee bar featuring local coffee from Gustos Café.

Mahi Ceviche and Tapas Bar's beautiful design includes a sculpture of the recognized and award-winning furniture designer, Javier Olmeda Raya from Puerto Rico Designs. Located at the lobby is Syrah Wine Bar, where guests can taste a variety of wines.

This is a humbling honor and I am so appreciative,” said Chef Rosario.

BARS AND LOUNGES
Just behind the beautiful lobby, you can find the Mahi Ceviche and Tapas Bar, a modern and sophisticated bar with one of the best Puerto Rican bartenders and mixologist, Rafael Maldonado–almost an alchemist and a Palmas resident. He really pours his heart into your drink. Try the Old Fashioned, it’s delicious. Let him surprise you! The tapas at the bar are also very good! But if you want something cozier, you can also enjoy a wine at the Syrah Wine Bar; it’s quiet, private and they have a great wine selection. Ask Erick Jiménez for help if you need some advice. The new Barracuda Lounge is also an alternative and they have live music Fridays and Saturdays.

BANQUETS & CORPORATE EVENTS
